SISTAR - 씨스타 - at DSU!

Anyong,

the day before yesterday there was the University festival at Dongseo University. I didn't think about going there actually.... BUT when my roommate told me that there will be one of these K-Pop girl groups I was a little bit curious. He told me that Sistar would come to our university. It was kind of unbelievable.

But then Elisa found a poster which told us the same. Even my coworker proved the fact, that they will come over to our campus.

Elisa and me went to the festival around 7 pm and then we watched a talent contest where students sang, danced and did other stuff.... of course it was a nice atmosphere and the contestants were really talented. At 9 pm Sistar has been introduced by a huge firework! And the second it has been finished Sistar came to the stage to perform.

Sunday Shopping and Sunday Sightseeing

Anyong,

after sleeping long on Sunday we were a little exhausted from last night. But Elisa is for the first time in SK and so we had to do something!

I took her to Nampo-Dong for some shopping.

FIX - Party triplet - Michael Marky and Elisa!

Anyong,

last Saturday right away after the firework Elisa and me went to my home to team up with my roommate Mark! We had a little dance session in our room and we dressed up while drinking Silkys kkk (Soju and Milkys).

Firework Festival for the little princess - Photos & Videos

Anyong,

Saturday night after Spaland the three of us were able to walk over from Centum city to Gwangalli to check out the 9th Busan Firework Festival!

We were a little bit late, so we had to hurry.... a lot... even because the subway and the streets were so crowded, that both were no option for us.

Majestic relaxing time for Elisa!

Anyong,
after a more or less long sleep Elisa and me decided to go to SPALAND. To start her vacation in Busan kind of relaxing. We hit the subway for a 45 min ride to Centum City and met with Dawoon. I recommended Elisa the personal korean scrub you can get in the gender separated area.

Majestic 8 flavors of Samgyoebsal!

Anyong,

I forced Elisa to stay awake till midnight, so she had one night off haha... Because I wanted to fight her jet lag! I did good!

After having lunch and refresh her body and soul we met Mina and Natasha for dinner. The two cuties did some research before to give Elisa the total Korea experience! We went to a restaurant where they serve 8 (yes EIGHT) different flavors of Samgyoebsal (Korean BBQ (pork))).  They had for example herbal, garlic, wine, curry, chili... The soup was just side dish. Even if this would have been a menu in germany.

Her Majesty Elisa

Anyong,

on friday the big day had come!

Finally my friend from university Elisa came over to Korea. She wanted to come so badly during the year I stayed here last time, but I was too busy. But now that I am here the second time she even didn't ask me if she can come over, she just did haha

So, I went to Busan station in friday afternoon to get her from the KTX. She managed to come down to Busan on her own. WOW! I wrote her a little Korea travel instruction how to get from Incheon airport (Seoul) to Busan and it worked out so well!

Kormarine 2013 - International Marine, Shipbuilding & Offshore Exhibition

Anyong,

yesterday Dawoon asked me if I could join him for the Kormarine 2013 today. My first thought was no, because of laboratory. But after thinking about it more and more I really wanted to go and so I thought about rearranging my experiments and just go.

Thats why I had to get up a little bit more early to check everything in the lab and then going strait to BEXCO (Exhibition hall center). That journey took me about 1 h, because it is at the other end of Busan.

Sunday dreaming - Deep-space horror

Anyong,

last sunday I met with Yuee and Natasha for some cake and coffee in Nampo-dong. Natasha wanted to have some real food before and asked us if we ever went to BrunsWeek.... and yes unfortunately I had been there one day before for breakfast with Dan...kkk  After dismissing this one we had our first stop at the italian style restaurant "At home". It was a cute restaurant with untraditional italian food.

We chose the Big Set which included 3 times orange juice, a bacon potato pizza and noodle salad. I was kind of excited about the noodle salad.
And I got what it said... Normal salad with spaghetti inside kkkk but it was really good.

After this appetizer we went to Natasha's favorite coffee shop: CoffeeSmith. Actually the coffee was better than the Sunday Brownie, but both were delicious.
The girls shared the waffle mix...
We were sitting next to the street, so we were able to supervise the whole shopping area kkkk After two hours of talking I recognized, that there are so many german cars especially on this street. They told me, that this street is kind of the Bahnhofstraße of Busan. Haha, I didn't recognize before, that all the shops were selling D&G/Gucci/Louis Vuitton and all the other expensive brands. Anyway at some point a very cute van passed by...
And later I found it again... Ye girl!
At some point after endless talking Yuee asked, if we saw the movie "Gravity" yet. Both of us hadn't and so we just went right away to the cinema. I was a little bit excited about the movie, but it was not as good as I thought it would be. Sorry Sandra and George.....

It was a very nice sunday!

And just as a prove, that I had been to Brunsweek kkkk

1 m of deliciousness!

Anyong,

after digesting the eel we changed the place to a restaurant I have never been inside before in Korea. I even dont know the name, but it was really close to Dongnae station. Just at the opposite side of the parking lots.
The restaurant, named Popocha, was so popular, that we even had to wait for about 15 min outside to get a table.
It was kind of self service restaurant.... but for us it was like experimental kitchen haha... we were responsible for our Kimchijang, for our ramjeon and for all the banchan. Even the table (actually 5 people table) was too small for us.... the best feature was, that we were able to store our bags inside of our chairs. Because we were kind of messy...
We took the plates and went to get some ingredients for our second dinner that night... I felt like the eel was just an appetizer for us.
I was responsible for the korean pizza pan....
Dawoon of course for the ramyeon, John knows, that he is soooo good at it kkkk anyway it was really good.... but the seriously best food of the night was the mixed meter. There were meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits and lots of curious stuff to find.
It reminded me of the lance John had once in the italian restaurant we all love so much back in Berlin.... but he had just seafood.... kkk
 here from bottom up...
and the seafood part.... it takes 1 pictures to show it all... crazy long such a meter...
The korean pizza was very successful, I think because Chaeoon prepared it in the end kkkk
And of course my bro was the grill master again.  After having all this we were really really full and so the table was...
Haha, it was such a great night! If you are in Korea and you had all the traditional food.... you can go there to have a fun night... preparing some korean food by yourself...kkkk

Eel street, eel 이모, eel grandma, eel fire!

Anyong,
last night I teamed up with my bro and his girlfriend again. He asked me to come to Dongnae station and from there we walked to kind of a famous street for seafood-lovers. So, maybe John knows the street kkk (I didn't).
The way to the street was kind of stressful, because Dongnae is full of people during the nighttime. It is developing to be the next Seomyeon... So more and more people, hungry for food and ju, are on the streets at night.
After 15 min walking out of the center of Dongnae we finally found this little street:

Seokbulsa Temple hiking with 지영 (Kelly)!!!!

안영 ,
yesterday I had a wonderful hiking say with Kelly!

I had to go to lab from 7-10:30 am and afterwards I started my way to Yeonsan station. There I met with Kelly in the subway and we went to Mandeog station. There we left civilization after passing a few apartments.Suddenly we were in the middle of the forrest at the mountain.
We enjoyed the nature and ourselves during the hike. We had so much to talk about, even because she has been in Canada for 6 month I think. It was super great and even the way we had to walk was very convenient.
During the hike we didn't recognize how fast we walked up the mountain... suddenly we had this awesome view!
Some signs told us the way to the temple.... not sure what this one told us, but it was kind of cool...
Finally arrived at the temple. And guess what, at a pagoda the figures showed the GANGNAM STYLE. I think PSY came here once to get some inspiration. So we just danced like the figures did. I know I am standing in front of my part, but trust me it showed the invisible horse dance move!
And there they are! The statues chiseled into the mountain. It shows 4 kings (the first two figures at each side) who are supposed to protect the goddess. The goddess has 1000 hands and 1000 eyes, so he/she/it can see every single one who is in need and can help everybody! Thats such a nice intention.
 There you see tiny Michael.

And on the other side just the perfect view!

Yes, that was the last part of the route, but you can see how steep it is.

In the end the trip just took about 2 hours and then we just had lunch haha! Very nice day!

Traditional Co-Worker - Traditional Food!

Anyong,

last night I met with some Co-worker for dinner. Hyun Jeong and HaeJin took me to a place in Seomyeon where I have never been inside.
It was called... something like: SPICY Old Shoe!

Unser täglich Brot gib uns heute -_- What the modern foreigner eats !

Anyong,

if there would be bread around, haha.... besides some sandwiches from Café Lieto there is none.

Does anybody know how hard it is to choose a menu if you already have your favorite dish?

I know! It is like little children wanna have candy all the time, or Lukas Podolski would prepare for "The Perfect Dinner": "Als Vorspeise: Chipse, Als Hauptgang: Chipse und als Nachtisch: Chipse! " I wanna eat everyday 두루치기  (Duruchigi).

Schneeballen - Don't throw them, they could kill somebody!

Anyong,

after having very turbulent 2 weeks in Busan I met with Dawoon on Saturday night just for 커피 and 케이크 (Kaffee und Kuchen). He took me to a new coffee shop and to my surprise it was named "Schneeballen". It was supposed to be a german style bakery. But what I have seen inside was nothing I have ever seen in germany haha

Bonjour Jinny!

Anyong,

on friday my good friend Jinny was in town so we had to switch day to nighttime...again!

On monday I got a text from her which said, that she would come over for friday night and I was really very happy to hear that. She stayed 1 year in France and we texted a lot during this year. It was the first time we saw each other for more than a year and it felt like nothing changed. We have still the same kind of humor!

She crushed at Ratchels place and so we did not have to head home with the last subway... That was very relaxing kkkk

We met at Judies Taehwa to have, of course korean BBQ! We were a group of 5 people, Jinny, Ratchel, Dawoon, Hoon and me. Hoon has been ICEA member during my first korean semester. Now that he was able to speak english he was a funny guy!

Haha, Jinny was so surprised, that I shook my rice... It is usual in Korea to do so, but she was not prepared to see me shaking my rice bowl haha.... so we had to picture this one!

Footprints in the sand

Anyong,

during the week there was holiday again. On Wednesday we had a day off (even if I had to work for about 2 hours, just to mention this for my parents haha).

I met with Dan (indirect introduced by James) to hang out at the beach. We planned to go kaiaking, but Mr. Typhoon didn't let us get some boats.... So we just hang out at the beach and checked the private surfboard/kaiak/standing-paddling people doing their thing and we just relaxed.

BIFF - The Terror Live

Anyong,

after getting the cute but very straight advise to leave the red carpet, because my ticket was not valid for sunday I came back on monday..... But I was not alone....

Natasha joined me for BIFF and this time we were able to enter without any problems.... but before we had some other fun....

Busan International Film Festival

Anyong,

unfortunately on sunday I travelled to haeundae beach to check the BIFF-Camp. I knew that Kelly is volunteering over there. She is managing all the stuff with the artists, directors and so on.

When I arrived at the beach it was close to twilight and I was very excited about to see her in the crowd...

The time I arrived at the beach I was kind of in a rush, because they prepared to much for the film festival.
They had some theme boxes for different movies, so u could take pictures actually in the movie posters, but I didn't try, because I was alone there by the time kkkk

Typhoon creatures!

Anyong,

today a really strong Typhoon is coming to Busan. It will hit the coast right away with all it's power. I am a little bit excited, but I remember that there was one two years before and it wasn't so strong like I expected.

Anyway it is raining all day and the humidity is killing me.... right now it's at 82% and I am wet from the rain and because of sweating! Even because it is 25°C during this rain.... it got a little bit colder, but still 25°C!!!
So here you see the typhoon where it is right now.... but he will come straight to the city I am based in. So I am kind of excited how to get home later kkkkk

00:00 - Feeding time

Anyong,

at midnight it was time to say goodbye to Dawoon and Chaeoon. But for me the night just started. I met with Pedro and Tae in Seomyeon.
And yes it ended in this way... Pedro got fed by an Imo :-)
