Sun Moon Lake - Kind of Bodensee feeling in Taiwan

Ni hao,

after travelling around Taipeh/Taipei we decided to go south to the center of Taiwan. We took the High Speed Railway to Taichung (it took 1 h) and from there we changed to the tourist shuttle bus to the Sun Moon Lake. 

 The second we arrived we realized that we had travelled with the Cartoon Network Train. Elisa looked kind of p*ssed off kkkk (she calls it surprised by the way...kkkkk) She is not a Power Puff Girl at all kkkk

After another 90 min we arrived at a pier and the people there kind of forced us with their kindness to get some tickets for the ferry. The ferry was a very nice "speed" boat. We had 3 stops on our tour and so we just rolled with it. 

First stop was hiking stop. We saw a Pagoda from the pier where we started, but the Pagoda was on top of a mountain. So we started to walk. After a few hundred meters  we wondered if it is the right way, because we have been hiking alone.... 

 30 min later we arrived at a very nice temple. 

 We were very warm welcomed to explore the temple and even the different floors of the temple itself. The place was so nice, that we decided to stay a few min to enjoy the atmosphere.

 And of course for taking pictures. 

 Here you can see the lake in the background. The water was really clear and clean. 

 After staying at the temple we walked to the pagoda. 

 Unfortunately it was closed, because of the earthquake which had happened a few hours before we arrived at Taiwan. 

 after checking the view from the top of the mountain we walked back. Before coming to Taiwan we read on the internet about all the dangerous stuff we have to take care of in Taiwan, like diseases and so on.... the "Auswertige Amt" told us, that there are toxic snakes all over Taiwan. I am afraid of snakes... so I was a little nervous about them while walking through the wilderness. At a time Elisa sang a self composed song about snakes and like in the disney movies seriously 30 sec later a snake appeared on our hiking trail. I hated her in this moment.... I know it is a really cute little snake, but still its a snake...

 We had some food at the second station and left the lake by bus again..... It is a visit worth to go to the Sun Moon Lake!
