our trip is getting better and better every single minute! Until now the island is keeping it's promises. Great beaches and unexpected adventures behind every corner!
In the background you see a very nice fall of the ravine Saint Gilles. St. Gilles les Bains is still the place where we live and behind me is a bassins (natural pool). We visited this natural wonder pretty spontaneous in the afternoon, but before we were relaxing at the beach next to Hermitage les Bains.
Because I am "El Driver" over here I had to drink my first beer right after arriving at the beach, to detoxicate the alcohol before driving again (of course it is mixed beer).

At this beach there is a coral reef right in front. Very convenient, because the sharks stay a little more in the deeper water, which starts at the border to the reef, and of course they have some nets to keep them outside.

After sleeping, walking and a little swimming at the beach we decided to go to the bassins. We had to park approximately 20 min apart of our aim. The rest we had to walk through the "jungle". It was kinda nice, because a waterway led us the way to the place to be :-)
These were used in former time to water the fields, Laura explained us.
The moment we arrived I could not believe what I saw. Deep in the forests, suddenly a gigantic waterfall, including a natural pool in front. After 20 min hiking at approximately 28°C we immediately decided to go for another swim.
The water was cold and refreshing. We enjoyed out stay, even if there were a lot of people (check the background).
After drying on the warm rocks we drove to the beach in St. Gilles and had some sushi (pineapple, mango filling!) during the sundown. We just watched to surfers and some guys jumping like crazy at the beach, using a ball as a trampoline.
Now I am ready to sleep.... it has been a very long day. I am curious what tomorrow will happen :-)
